Main Ingredients

Method

Preparing the Flower Petal Salt

  1. 1

    Mix the Salt and Petals

In a small bowl, combine the coarse sea salt and dried edible flower petals. Mix well to ensure the petals are evenly distributed throughout the salt. Set aside.

Making the Clarified Hibiscus Margarita

  1. 2

    Prepare Hibiscus Infusion

In a saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the dried hibiscus flowers and reduce the heat to a simmer. Allow the flowers to steep for about 15 minutes, then strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, discarding the solids. Let the hibiscus infusion cool completely.

  2. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a shaker, combine 2 oz of the cooled hibiscus infusion, 2 oz of blanco tequila, 1 oz of fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz of simple syrup. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

  3. 4

    Prepare the Glass

Take a chilled glass and rim the edge with the flower petal salt mixture. To do this, run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and then dip the rim into the flower petal salt to coat it evenly.

  4. 5

    Strain and Serve

Strain the margarita mixture into the prepared glass filled with ice. Garnish with a lime wheel or a few dried flower petals if desired.
