Melt Butter and Chocolate
In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter and semisweet chocolate together over low heat, stirring frequently until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- 3
Mix Sugar and Eggs
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, and egg yolks until thick and pale. This should take about 3-4 minutes.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring constantly until well combined.
- 5
Add Flour and Flavorings
Gently fold in the flour, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Pour into Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling them about 2/3 full.
- 7
Bake
Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.
- 8
Cool and Unmold
Remove from the oven and let the cakes cool for 1 minute. Then, carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate and gently tap to release the cake.
