Method

Preparing the Fries

  1. 1

    Bake the Fries

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the frozen French fries on a baking sheet in a single layer. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat evenly.

  2. 2

    Bake

Bake the fries in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.

Preparing the Steak Topping

  1. 3

    Season the Steak

While the fries are baking, season the ribeye steak with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 4

    Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned steak to the hot skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly.

  3. 5

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and mushrooms. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are softened and caramelized.

  4. 6

    Melt the Cheese

Return the sliced steak to the skillet with the onions and mushrooms. Place the slices of white American cheese on top, cover with a lid, and let it melt for about 2-3 minutes.

Assembling the Cheesesteak Fries

  1. 7

    Combine and Serve

Once the fries are done baking, remove them from the oven and place them on a serving platter. Top the fries with the steak and cheese mixture, ensuring an even distribution. Serve immediately.
