Preparation and Cooking
1. Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, chopped basil, harissa paste, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken breast, ensuring it is well coated with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.
2. Prepare the Skewers
Soak the skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning. If using metal skewers, this step is not necessary.
3. Skewer the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade and cut it into bite-sized pieces. Thread the chicken pieces onto the skewers.
4. Grill the Kababs
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
5. Serve
Serve the chicken shish kababs with rice or lentil puree on the side. Drizzle with additional olive oil and garnish with fresh basil if desired.
