Cassava Puffs
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Cassava
Peel and chop the cassava into chunks. Boil in salted water until tender, about 20-25 minutes. Drain and mash until smooth.
- 2
Make the Filling
In a bowl, combine the mashed cassava, mashed potato, chickpea flour, cumin seeds, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt, black pepper, green chili, and fresh cilantro. Mix well until a dough forms.
- 3
Shape the Puffs
Take a small amount of the mixture and shape it into a ball, then flatten it slightly to form a disk. Repeat the process until all the mixture is used.
- 4
Fry the Puffs
Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully drop the shaped puffs into the oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
