Method

Steak

1

Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

2

Season the Steak

Rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

3

Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steaks to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms.

4

Flip and Finish Cooking

Flip the steaks, add butter and thyme to the skillet, and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare. Use a spoon to baste the steaks with the melted butter.

5

Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Fries

6

Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to make fries.

7

Soak the Fries

Soak the potato strips in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

8

Heat the Oil

In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

9

Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the soaked potatoes to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

10

Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.

Salad

11

Prepare the Ingredients

Wash and dry the mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, and cucumber.

12

Assemble the Salad

In a large bowl, combine the mixed greens, halved cherry tomatoes, and sliced cucumber.

13

Dress the Salad

Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Toss gently to combine.
