1. Prepare the Wagyu
Remove the A5 Wagyu beef from the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
2. Season the Beef
Generously season both sides of the Wagyu beef with salt and black pepper.
3. Preheat the Pan
Heat a heavy skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and let it heat until shimmering.
4. Sear the Beef
Place the Wagyu beef in the pan and sear each side for about 2-3 minutes, or until a nice crust forms. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
5. Rest the Meat
Remove the beef from the pan and let it rest for 5-10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
6. Slice and Serve
Slice the Wagyu against the grain and serve immediately, optionally with a side of your choice.
