Chicken Wings
Spicy Honey Sauce
Method
Preparation of Chicken Wings
- 1
Clean and Season the Wings
Start by cleaning the chicken wings under cold water. Pat them dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the wings with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until evenly coated.
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Frying Chicken Wings
- 3
Fry the Wings
Carefully add the seasoned chicken wings to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them for about 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- 4
Drain the Wings
Once cooked, remove the wings from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Making the Spicy Honey Sauce
- 5
Combine the Sauce Ingredients
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the honey, hot sauce, soy sauce, minced garlic, ground cayenne pepper, and lime juice. Stir well to combine.
- 6
Simmer the Sauce
Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally. Let it cook for about 5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
Tossing and Serving
- 7
Toss the Wings in Sauce
Once the sauce is ready, add the fried chicken wings into the saucepan. Toss them in the sauce until they are evenly coated.
- 8
Serve
Transfer the spicy honey chicken wings to a serving platter. You can garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot.
