Pork Marinade

Method

Pork Marinade Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Pork

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, minced shallot, and black pepper. Add the pork shoulder and coat it evenly with the marinade. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for best flavor.

  2. 2

    Grill the Pork

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Brush the grill grates with vegetable oil. Remove the pork from the marinade and place it on the grill. Cook for about 6-8 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C). Remove from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 3

    Prepare the Bread

While the pork is resting, slice the baguette lengthwise, leaving one side attached to create a hinge.

  2. 4

    Assemble the Sandwich

Spread mayonnaise on one side of the baguette. Layer the sliced pork, cucumber, carrots, daikon radish, and fresh cilantro inside the baguette. Drizzle with Sriracha sauce to taste.

  3. 5

    Serve

Close the sandwich and cut it in half. Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade Banh Mi!
