Fries

Method

Preparing the Fries

  1. 1

    Cutting the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into evenly-sized strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soaking the Potatoes

Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 3

    Drying the Fries

Drain the soaked fries and pat them dry using paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  4. 4

    Heating the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Frying the Potatoes

Fry the potatoes in batches for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Seasoning the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to taste.

Preparing the Toppings

  1. 7

    Cooking the Wagyu Steak

Season the Wagyu steak with salt and pepper. Grill or pan-sear the steak over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  2. 8

    Sautéing the Vegetables

In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add sliced onions, mushrooms, and sweet bell peppers. Sauté until soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 9

    Melting the Cheese

In the last minute of cooking the vegetables, place slices of white American cheese on top and cover the skillet to melt.

Assembling the Dish

  1. 10

    Plating the Fries

On a large plate, layer the crispy fries as a base.

  2. 11

    Adding the Toppings

Top the fries with sliced Wagyu steak, followed by the sautéed vegetables and melted cheese.

  3. 12

    Garnishing

Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top for garnish.
