Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Turkey
If you haven't done so already, slow-roast the turkey breast. Season it with salt, pepper, and your choice of herbs. Roast it in the oven at 325°F (163°C) for about 3-4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Allow it to cool, then hand-pull the turkey into pieces.
- 2
Make the Stuffing
If using homemade stuffing, prepare it according to your recipe. If using store-bought, follow the package instructions to heat it through.
- 3
Prepare the Sub
Slice the submarine roll horizontally, ensuring not to cut all the way through. You want to create a pocket for the fillings.
Assembly
- 4
Layer the Ingredients
Spread the mayonnaise evenly on the inside of the submarine roll. Begin layering by adding the hand-pulled turkey breast, followed by the stuffing, and then drizzle the cranberry sauce over the top.
- 5
Close and Serve
Once all ingredients are layered, gently close the submarine roll. You can either serve it immediately or wrap it in parchment paper to let the flavors meld for a few minutes before slicing it in half for easy handling.
