Lavender Matcha Ingredients

Method

Lavender Matcha Preparation

  1. 1

    Infuse the Lavender

In a small saucepan, add the dried lavender buds and 1 cup of hot water. Allow the lavender to steep for about 5 minutes to infuse the water with its aroma and flavor. After steeping, strain the lavender buds from the water, discarding the buds. Set the infused lavender water aside to cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Matcha

In a small bowl, add the culinary grade matcha powder. Pour in about 2 tablespoons of the infused lavender water (cooled slightly) to the matcha powder. Using a bamboo whisk (chasen) or a small whisk, whisk the matcha and water together until smooth and frothy, making sure there are no lumps.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a separate glass or cup, combine the remaining infused lavender water with honey or maple syrup, stirring until fully dissolved. Add the milk or milk alternative and mix well.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Drink

If you prefer an iced version, fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Pour the lavender milk mixture over the ice, and then gently pour the whisked matcha on top. You can use a spoon to create a beautiful layered effect.

  5. 5

    Serve and Enjoy

Garnish with a sprinkle of dried lavender buds if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing Lavender Matcha!
