Method
Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it's ready for baking.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Set aside.
- 3
Cream Butter and Sugars
In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- 4
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- 5
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 6
Fold in Mix-Ins
Using a spatula, fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts until evenly distributed.
Baking
- 7
Scoop the Dough
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
- 8
Bake the Cookies
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
- 9
Cool the Cookies
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
