Fries

Method

Fries Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to form fries.

  2. 2

    Soak the Fries

Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the fries to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to taste.

Topping Preparation

  1. 6

    Cook the Steak

In a skillet over medium-high heat, add a little oil and sear the flank steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked to medium-rare. Remove and let rest before slicing thinly.

  2. 7

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add butter and sauté the sliced onions, mushrooms, and sweet bell peppers until soft, about 5-7 minutes. Add Worcestershire sauce and stir to combine.

  3. 8

    Assemble the Dish

On a large serving platter, layer the crispy fries, then top with the sliced steak, sautéed vegetables, and finally, the white American cheese.

  4. 9

    Melt the Cheese

Place the assembled fries under a broiler for about 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
