Method
Preparation of Slaw
- 1
In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded green cabbage, grated carrot, and chopped green onion to create the slaw mixture.
- 2
In a separate small bowl, mix the Russian dressing and mayonnaise until well combined.
- 3
Pour the dressing mixture over the slaw and toss until all the vegetables are well coated. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- 4
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Cooking the Beef
- 5
- 6
Season the American Wagyu beef with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- 7
Cook the beef for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes.
Assembling the Sub
- 8
Slice the sub rolls in half lengthwise, being careful not to cut all the way through.
- 9
Layer each sub roll with a slice of provolone cheese, followed by a portion of the cooked Wagyu beef.
- 10
Top the beef with a generous serving of the prepared coleslaw.
- 11
Close the sub rolls and serve immediately for the best experience.
