Frisco Melt Ingredients
Method
Preparation Instructions
- 1
Cook the Onions
In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the sliced onion and sauté until they are translucent and caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 2
Cook the Beef
In the same skillet, add the ground beef. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary. Season with salt and pepper.
- 3
Assemble the Melt
On one slice of sourdough bread, spread 2 tablespoons of Frisco sauce. Layer half of the cooked beef, followed by a slice of Swiss cheese, the caramelized onions, and then another slice of Swiss cheese. Spread another 2 tablespoons of Frisco sauce on the second slice of bread and place it on top.
- 4
Grill the Sandwich
In the skillet, melt the remaining tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Carefully place the assembled sandwich in the skillet. Grill for 3-4 minutes on each side until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Press down gently with a spatula for even grilling.
- 5
Serve
Remove the sandwich from the skillet, cut in half, and serve hot with additional Frisco sauce on the side if desired.
