Base

Method

Rice Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Rice

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of jasmine rice with 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

    Simmer the Rice

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover with a lid, and let simmer for about 15 minutes, or until all the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes.

Protein Preparation

  1. 3

    Make Teriyaki Sauce

In a bowl, whisk together 1 cup of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of minced ginger, and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil until well combined.

  2. 4

    Cook Chicken

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the chicken thighs and pour the teriyaki sauce over them. Cook for about 7-10 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink in the center.

  3. 5

    Slice Chicken

Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it into bite-sized pieces.

Vegetable Preparation

  1. 6

    Sauté Vegetables

In the same skillet used for the chicken, add the broccoli florets, sliced carrot, and bell pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Assemble the Bowl

In serving bowls, layer the cooked jasmine rice, followed by the sautéed vegetables, sliced chicken, and finally sprinkle with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and nori strips.
