Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder. Whisk together until well blended.

  2. 2

    Add Wet Ingredients

Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the olive oil and water. Mix until a dough begins to form.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Rest the Dough

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.

Lahvosh Assembly

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 6

    Roll out the Dough

After resting, divide the dough into two pieces. Roll each piece out on a floured surface until very thin, about 1/8 inch thickness.

  3. 7

    Add Toppings

Place the rolled dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the surface lightly with olive oil, then sprinkle with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and salt.

  4. 8

    Bake the Lahvosh

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and crispy.

  5. 9

    Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool before breaking into pieces. Serve as a snack or appetizer.
