Method

Brewing the Tea

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil.

  2. 2

    Steep Tea

Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add 4 tablespoons of Thai tea leaves. Allow it to steep for about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Strain Tea

After steeping, strain the tea leaves using a fine mesh strainer into a heatproof container. Discard the leaves.

  4. 4

    Sweeten the Tea

While the tea is still warm, stir in 1 tablespoon of sugar until dissolved. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature.

Serving the Tea

  1. 5

    Prepare Glasses

Fill a tall glass with ice cubes to the rim.

  2. 6

    Pour Tea

Slowly pour the cooled Thai tea over the ice, filling the glass about 2/3 full.

  3. 7

    Add Cream

Top off the tea with 2 tablespoons of evaporated milk and 3 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk. Stir gently to combine.

  4. 8

    Garnish (optional)

If desired, garnish with a sprinkle of ground nutmeg or cinnamon for added flavor.
