Dumpling Dough

Method

Prepare the Dumpling Dough

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water while mixing until a dough forms.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Make the Filling

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a large bowl, mix together the ground pork, chopped green onions, grated carrot, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Assemble the Dumplings

  1. 4

    Roll Out the Dough

After the dough has rested, divide it into small portions. Roll each portion into a thin circle about 3 inches in diameter.

  2. 5

    Fill the Dumplings

Place about 1 tablespoon of filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal tightly.

Steam the Dumplings

  1. 6

    Prepare the Steamer

Prepare a steamer by bringing water to a boil in a pot. Line the steamer basket with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

  2. 7

    Steam the Dumplings

Place the dumplings in the steamer basket, making sure they are not touching. Cover and steam for 15-20 minutes until the filling is cooked through.
