Tea Base

Sweetened Condensed Milk Mixture

Garnish (optional)

Method

Prepare the Tea

  1. 1

    Boil the Water

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Steep the Tea

Once the water is boiling, add 4 tablespoons of Thai black tea leaves to the boiling water. Reduce the heat to medium and let it steep for about 5-7 minutes until it reaches a rich color.

  3. 3

    Strain the Tea

After steeping, strain the tea through a fine mesh sieve or tea strainer into a heatproof pitcher to remove the tea leaves.

Prepare the Sweetened Condensed Milk Mixture

  1. 4

    Combine the Ingredients

In a separate bowl or pitcher, combine 1 cup of sweetened condensed milk and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. 5

    Add Evaporated Milk

Pour in 1 cup of evaporated milk to the sweetened condensed milk mixture and stir until combined.

Combine and Serve

  1. 6

    Mix the Tea and Milk

Pour the brewed Thai tea into the sweetened milk mixture and stir until fully combined.

  2. 7

    Serve

For serving, fill glasses with ice cubes, if desired, and pour the Thai tea mixture over the ice. Garnish with Thai basil leaves if using.
