Infuse saffron
Place saffron threads in 0.5 cup hot water and steep for 5–7 minutes to release color and aroma.

Prepare mesquite slurry
Whisk mesquite flour with 2 tbs of milk from the 1 cup, into a smooth slurry; set aside.

Heat milk with aromatics
In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, warm the milk with coconut oil and turmeric until hot and fragrant, whisking to blend.

Combine slurry
Whisk mesquite slurry into the hot milk mixture; continue whisking 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened and smooth.

Add saffron infusion
Stir in the saffron infusion. Heat just until steaming (do not boil) and whisk to blend flavors.

Finish and serve
Taste and adjust as desired. If you like, froth briefly and pour into a warm mug.
