Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a medium pot.

Add 6 black tea bags to the boiling water. Remove from heat and steep for 5–7 minutes, then remove tea bags.

Stir in 1/3 cup granulated sugar while the tea is still warm, until fully dissolved.

Stir in 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice to brighten the tea.

Let the tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until completely chilled (about 2 hours or longer).

To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled tea over the ice.

Garnish each glass with fresh mint leaves and a lemon slice before serving.
