Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Cook the Steak

Season the flat iron steak with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a little oil. Once hot, sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Bacon

In the same skillet, cook the pecanwood smoked bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels, then chop into bite-sized pieces.

  3. 3

    Chop the Vegetables

While the steak and bacon are cooking, chop the grape tomatoes in half and thinly slice the red onion.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Salad

In a large bowl, combine the romaine hearts (chopped or whole), grape tomatoes, sliced red onion, bleu cheese crumbles, and chopped bacon. Slice the rested steak and layer it on top.

  5. 5

    Dress the Salad

Drizzle your favorite balsamic vinaigrette over the salad and toss gently to combine. Serve immediately.
