Fried Pickles
Buttermilk Ranch
Method
Fried Pickles
- 1
Prepare the Pickles
Drain the pickle slices and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In a shallow bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well. In another shallow bowl, pour the buttermilk.
- 3
Bread the Pickles
Dip each pickle slice into the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour-cornmeal mixture until fully coated. Shake off any excess.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Pickles
Carefully add a few breaded pickle slices to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
