Main Ingredients

Spices and Marinade

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken thighs and coat them thoroughly with the marinade. Allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess fat. Reserve some bacon drippings in the skillet.

  3. 3

    Prep the Vegetables

Chop the lettuce and dice the tomato into small pieces. Set aside for assembling the dish.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Fire-braise the Chicken

In the same skillet with reserved bacon drippings, place the marinated chicken thighs over medium-high heat. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until well-browned and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).

  2. 5

    Add Cheese and Bacon

Once the chicken is cooked, top each thigh with shredded white cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon. Cover the skillet with a lid for 2-3 minutes to melt the cheese.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble the Dish

On a serving plate, layer the cooked chicken thighs topped with melted cheese and bacon. Add a handful of lettuce and diced tomato on top. Drizzle with southwest ranch dressing before serving.
