Method

Chicken Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, combine buttermilk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Add chicken thighs and marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.

  2. 2

    Fry the Chicken

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove chicken from buttermilk, dredge in flour, and fry in batches for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.

Hot Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Make Hot Sauce

In a saucepan, combine hot sauce, cayenne pepper, brown sugar, and butter. Heat over medium heat until the butter melts and everything is well mixed. Remove from heat.

Slaw Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Slaw

In a mixing bowl, combine shredded cabbage, grated carrot, julienned apple, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let sit for 15 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Sliders

Slice slider buns in half. Place a piece of fried chicken on the bottom half of each bun. Drizzle with hot sauce, add a layer of slaw, and top with pickles. Place the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
