1. Prepare the Shrimp
Start by cleaning and butterflying the shrimp. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
2. Set Up Breading Stations
Prepare three shallow dishes: one with flour mixed with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika; one with beaten eggs; and the third with bread crumbs.
3. Bread the Shrimp
Dredge each butterflied shrimp first in the flour mixture, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with bread crumbs. Make sure each shrimp is evenly coated.
4. Heat the Oil
In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the temperature by dropping a small piece of bread into the oil; it should sizzle and brown quickly.
5. Fry the Shrimp
Carefully place the breaded shrimp in the hot oil, cooking in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
6. Drain and Serve
Remove the fried shrimp and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve the Gamberoni Fritti over a bed of Tuscan fries.
