Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Broccolini

Rinse the broccolini under cold water and trim the ends. Cut any thick stems in half lengthwise to ensure even cooking.

  2. 2

    Chop Shallots and Garlic

Peel and finely chop the shallots. Peel and mince the garlic cloves.

  3. 3

    Prepare Sun-dried Tomatoes

If using dry sun-dried tomatoes, soak them in hot water for 10 minutes to soften, then chop them into small pieces.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Heat Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.

  2. 5

    Sauté Shallots and Garlic

Add the chopped shallots to the skillet and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they are translucent. Then, add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional 30 seconds, being careful not to burn it.

  3. 6

    Add Broccolini

Add the prepared broccolini to the skillet. Stir to combine with the shallots and garlic.

  4. 7

    Season and Cook

Sprinkle in the salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Sauté the broccolini for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it is tender but still vibrant green.

  5. 8

    Incorporate Sun-dried Tomatoes

Add the chopped sun-dried tomatoes to the skillet and stir to mix them with the broccolini. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.

  6. 9

    Serve

Remove from heat and transfer the sautéed broccolini to a serving dish. Enjoy warm as a side dish.
