Cooking Pasta
- 1
Boil Water
Fill a large pot with water and add 1 tsp of salt. Bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat.
- 2
Cook Spaghetti
Once boiling, add 200g of spaghetti to the pot. Cook according to package instructions (usually around 8-10 minutes) until al dente.
- 3
Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside, reserving a little pasta water if desired.
Making Sauce
- 4
Heat Olive Oil
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
- 5
Sauté Garlic
Add 3 minced garlic cloves to the skillet and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, stirring frequently.
- 6
Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Pour in 400g of crushed canned tomatoes, then add 1 tsp of dried oregano, 1 tsp of salt, and 1 tsp of black pepper. Stir well to combine.
- 7
Simmer Sauce
Let the sauce simmer for about 10-15 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of reserved pasta water.
