Chicken Preparation

Method

Chicken Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  2. 2

    Breading Setup

Set up a breading station: Place all-purpose flour in one shallow dish, whisk together eggs and milk in another shallow dish, and place Italian breadcrumbs in a third shallow dish.

  3. 3

    Bread the Chicken

Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off excess. Dip into the egg mixture, then coat with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.

Frying

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it's hot but not smoking.

  2. 5

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully place breaded chicken breasts into the hot oil. Fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Marinara Sauce

  1. 6

    Cook the Sauce

In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  2. 7

    Add Tomatoes and Seasoning

Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Topping

  1. 8

    Assemble the Dish

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place fried chicken breasts in a baking dish. Spoon marinara sauce over each piece, then sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

  2. 9

    Bake the Chicken

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
