Cooking Pasta

Boil Water
Fill a large pot with water, add 1 tablespoon of salt, and bring it to a boil over high heat.

Cook Spaghetti
Once the water is boiling, add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes, until al dente.

Drain Pasta
Once cooked, reserve a cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti in a colander.
Making Sauce

Heat Olive Oil
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

Sauté Garlic
Add 4 minced garlic cloves to the skillet and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

Add Tomato Sauce
Pour in 400 ml of canned tomato sauce and stir well to combine with the garlic.

Season the Sauce
Add 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Stir well and let simmer for about 10 minutes.

Add Fresh Basil
Stir in 1 cup of chopped fresh basil into the sauce and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Combining Pasta and Sauce

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the sauce. Toss well to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to reach desired consistency.

Plate and Garnish
Serve the pasta hot, garnished with 100 grams of grated Parmesan cheese and a few fresh basil leaves on top.
