Method

Cooking Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook Fettuccine

Add fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Drain Pasta

Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside, reserving about 1 cup of pasta water.

Making Alfredo Sauce

  1. 4

    Melt Butter

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.

  2. 5

    Add Garlic

Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  3. 6

    Add Cream

Pour in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently.

  4. 7

    Incorporate Parmesan

Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until it is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.

  5. 8

    Season

Add salt and black pepper to taste, mixing well to combine.

Combine Pasta and Sauce

  1. 9

    Mix Together

Add the drained fettuccine pasta directly to the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.

  2. 10

    Serve

Serve the Fettuccine Alfredo immediately, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
