Cooking Pasta
- 1
Boil Water
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil over high heat.
- 2
Cook Fettuccine
Add fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- 3
Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside, reserving about 1 cup of pasta water.
Making Alfredo Sauce
- 4
Melt Butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.
- 5
- 6
Add Cream
Pour in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently.
- 7
Incorporate Parmesan
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until it is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
