Turkey and Accompaniments

Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Turkey

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Rub the turkey breast with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Place the turkey breast in a roasting pan and cook for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

  2. 2

    Make the Stuffing

In a bowl, combine the stuffing mix and chicken broth. Stir until the mixture is moist. Set aside until the turkey is almost done cooking.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Mashed Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes. Boil them in a pot of salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain, then mash with butter and milk until creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. 4

    Candied Carrots

Peel and slice the carrots. In a saucepan, combine the carrots, brown sugar, and just enough water to cover. Cook over medium heat until the carrots are tender and the liquid has thickened, about 15 minutes.

  5. 5

    Homemade Cranberry Sauce

In a saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, and water. Bring to a boil, then simmer until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens, about 10-15 minutes. Let cool before serving.

  6. 6

    Assemble and Serve

Once the turkey is done, let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve the sliced turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, candied carrots, and cranberry sauce.
