Instructions
- 1
Cook the Meat
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent. Add the ground beef, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
- 2
Prepare the Ricotta Mixture
In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the grated Parmesan cheese. Mix until well combined.
- 3
Boil the Lasagna Noodles
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 4
Assemble the Lasagna
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom. Place 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, followed by half of the beef mixture, and a third of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers, ending with a final layer of noodles, marinara sauce, and the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
- 5
Bake
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil (to prevent sticking, spray the foil with cooking spray). Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- 6
Cool and Serve
Let the lasagna cool for about 15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
