    Sauté the Vegetables

    In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion becomes translucent, about 5 minutes.

    Add Butternut Squash and Apples

    Stir in the diced butternut squash and apples. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Add Broth and Spices

    Pour in the vegetable broth and add the nutmeg, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the squash and apples are tender.

    Blend the Bisque

    Using an immersion blender, or in batches with a regular blender, puree the mixture until smooth and creamy.

    Finish with Cream

    Stir in the heavy cream and heat through. Adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve warm.
