Method

Cake Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.

3

Add Wet Ingredients

Add the eggs, whole milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined and smooth.

4

Incorporate Boiling Water

Carefully stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin, but this is normal.

5

Pour into Pans

Evenly distribute the batter between the prepared cake pans.

6

Bake the Cake

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

7

Cool the Cakes

Once baked, remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
