Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Bake the Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until they are cooked through and golden brown.

Italian Sausage Patties

  1. 4

    Prepare the Sausage Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, fennel seeds, paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and chopped parsley. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

  2. 5

    Form the Patties

Shape the mixture into patties about 1 inch thick. Place them on a plate or baking sheet.

  3. 6

    Cook the Sausage Patties

Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they are cooked through and have a nice golden crust.

Marinara Sauce

  1. 7

    Sauté the Garlic

In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  2. 8

    Make the Marinara Sauce

Add canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper to the saucepan. Stir well and let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

  3. 9

    Add Fresh Basil

Stir in chopped fresh basil right before serving for added freshness.

Ricotta Topping

  1. 10

    Prepare the Ricotta

In a small bowl, mix ricotta cheese with chopped basil and season with salt to taste. This will be used as a topping.
