Seafood Platter Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Seafood

Rinse the shrimp and oysters under cold water. Pat dry with paper towels. Cut the catfish fillets into serving-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Stations

In one bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, and Old Bay seasoning. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.

  3. 3

    Bread the Seafood

Dredge each piece of seafood first in the egg mixture, then coat with the flour mixture. Ensure each piece is well coated.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Seafood

Carefully add the breaded shrimp, oysters, and catfish pieces to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes for shrimp and oysters, and 5-6 minutes for catfish. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Prepare the Sides

Cook the pub fries according to package instructions. In a large bowl, combine coleslaw mix with coleslaw dressing.

  7. 7

    Serve

Arrange the fried seafood on a platter and serve with pub fries and coleslaw on the side.
