Ingredients for House Made Bread Pudding

Method

Directions for House Made Bread Pudding

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Tear the stale bread into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Make the Custard Mixture

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Bread and Custard

Pour the custard mixture over the torn bread pieces, ensuring all the bread is soaked. Let it sit for about 15 minutes.

  4. 4

    Prepare Baking Dish

Grease a baking dish with butter. Pour the bread mixture into the prepared baking dish.

  5. 5

    Bake the Bread Pudding

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Make the Buttered Rum Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine butter, dark rum, and brown sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the sauce is smooth.

  7. 7

    Serve

Once the bread pudding is baked, serve warm with the buttered rum sauce drizzled over the top.
