Crab Cakes
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the crab mixture
In a large bowl, combine crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, green onions, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until well combined.
- 2
Add egg and breadcrumbs
Add the beaten egg and bread crumbs to the mixture. Stir until everything is evenly mixed. If the mixture is too wet, add a little more bread crumbs until it holds together.
- 3
Form the cakes
Using your hands, form the mixture into patties, about 3 inches wide and 1 inch thick. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 4
Chill the cakes
Refrigerate the crab cakes for about 30 minutes to help them firm up.
- 5
Cook the cakes
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the crab cakes for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Alternatively, they can be grilled for a healthier option.
