Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Sausage

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the Conecuh sausage until browned and cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Burger Patties

In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties.

  3. 3

    Stuff the Patties

Take one patty and make an indentation in the center. Place a portion of the cooked Conecuh sausage in the indentation, then cover with another patty, sealing the edges tightly. Repeat with the remaining patties.

  4. 4

    Cook the Burgers

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the stuffed patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns on the grill or skillet until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Burgers

On each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, and pickles. Optionally, add crispy bacon on top.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the Conecuh burgers immediately with your favorite sides.
