Main Ingredients

Method

Cooking the Rib-eye

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the rib-eye from the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking. This helps to ensure even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steak with olive oil, then season both sides with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Preheat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.

  4. 4

    Finish with Butter

In the last minute of cooking, add butter to the skillet and baste the steak with the melted butter for extra flavor.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Preparing Vegetables and Salad

  1. 6

    Cook the Vegetables

While the steak is resting, steam or sauté the broccoli or Brussels sprouts until they are tender, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 7

    Prepare Whipped Potatoes

Mash cooked potatoes with butter, salt, and a splash of milk until fluffy and creamy.

  3. 8

    Mix the Salad

In a bowl, combine house salad mix, drizzle with vinegar and olive oil, and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Toss to combine.
