    Prepare the Shrimp

    Fill a large pot with 4 cups of water and add 1 teaspoon of salt. Squeeze the juice of the whole lemon into the water and then add the lemon halves into the pot.

    Boil the Water

    Place the pot over high heat and bring the water to a rolling boil.

    Cook the Shrimp

    Once the water is boiling, add the 1 pound of large shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

    Ice Bath

    Prepare a bowl of ice water. Once the shrimp are cooked, immediately transfer them to the ice bath to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for about 5 minutes.

    Drain and Chill

    Drain the shrimp from the ice water and pat them dry with paper towels. Place them in the refrigerator to chill while you prepare the serving dish.

    Prepare the Cocktail Sauce

    In a small bowl, mix 1 cup of cocktail sauce with 1 teaspoon of Tabasco sauce for added heat. Adjust to taste.

    Arrange the chilled shrimp on a platter and serve with the cocktail sauce on the side. Garnish with 2 tablespoons of freshly chopped parsley.
