Method

Preparing the Patty

  1. 1

    Mixing Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 pound of ground beef, 1 tsp salt, 0.5 tsp black pepper, and 0.5 tsp garlic powder. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Forming the Patty

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick.

Cooking the Patty

  1. 3

    Grilling

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the grill and cook for 4–5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

  2. 4

    Adding Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to melt the cheese.

Preparing Toppings

  1. 5

    Lettuce and Tomato

While the patties are cooking, rinse the lettuce leaf and pat dry. Slice the tomato into thick rounds.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Building the Burger

Toast the burger buns lightly if desired. On the bottom half of each bun, spread 1 tbs of special sauce. Place the cooked patty with melted cheese on top, followed by the lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato. Top with the other half of the bun.
