Method

Cookies

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, sift together all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Cream the Butter and Sugars

In another bowl, beat together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until fully combined.

  5. 5

    Chill the Dough

Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

  6. 6

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  7. 7

    Shape the Cookies

Once chilled, scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, about 2 inches apart.

  8. 8

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.

  9. 9

    Cool

Remove from the oven and allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Cream Filling

  1. 10

    Make the Cream Filling

In a mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until smooth.

  2. 11

    Add Vanilla

Mix in the vanilla extract until well combined.

  3. 12

    Assemble the Oreo

Once the cookies have cooled completely, spread a generous amount of cream filling on the flat side of one cookie and top it with another cookie, flat side down. Press gently to sandwich them together.
