Oat Milk

Hazelnut Syrup

Method

Oat Milk Preparation

  1. 1

    Blend Oats and Water

In a blender, combine 1 cup of rolled oats with 4 cups of water. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

  2. 2

    Strain Oat Milk

Pour the blended oat mixture through a cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer into a bowl. Squeeze the cloth to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solid oat pulp.

  3. 3

    Flavor the Oat Milk

Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt to the strained oat milk. Stir well to combine.

Hazelnut Syrup Preparation

  1. 4

    Create Sugar Syrup

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture comes to a gentle boil.

  2. 5

    Add Hazelnut Flavor

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon of hazelnut extract. Allow the syrup to cool before using.

Latte Assembly

  1. 6

    Prepare Coffee

Brew 2 shots of espresso or strong coffee using your preferred method.

  2. 7

    Combine Ingredients

In a large mug, pour the brewed coffee and add 2 to 3 tablespoons of hazelnut syrup (adjust to taste).

  3. 8

    Froth Oat Milk

Using a milk frother or whisk, froth the prepared oat milk until it’s light and airy.

  4. 9

    Serve the Latte

Pour the frothed oat milk over the coffee mixture. Optionally, dust with cocoa powder or sprinkle ground hazelnuts on top for garnish.
