Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.

Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture, mixing until well combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.

Grease a cast-iron skillet with a bit of butter or cooking spray.

Spread the cookie dough evenly in the prepared skillet, pressing it down gently.

Break the Oreos into pieces and sprinkle them over the top of the cookie dough.

Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
