Method
Preparation
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and oats until well combined.
Cream Butter and Sugar
In another large bowl, beat the softened butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until creamy and smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then add the vanilla extract and mix until fully incorporated.
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
Fold in Mix-ins
Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped macadamia nuts until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Baking
Scoop and Bake
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
Cool
Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
