Burger Patty

Toppings

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties that are about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you may add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 4 minutes.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Bun

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.

  3. 8

    Finish the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun and press down gently to secure all the ingredients.
